Application
This equipment integrates the extraction and concentration of Chinese medicinal materials into a single unit, enabling simultaneous and one-step processing until the desired extract density is achieved. It replaces the conventional two-step method involving separate extraction and concentration stages. The unit supports normal-pressure extraction and concentration, suitable for hot reflux extraction using ethanol and other organic solvents. It can also be adapted to traditional fractional extraction with water as the solvent under normal pressure, followed by vacuum concentration of the hot liquid.
Equipment Structure:
The Unit Is Composed of Extraction Tank, Single-Effect Flow Reducer, Condenser, Oil-Water Separator, Automatic Drainage System, Filter, Sanitary Class Centrifugal Pump, Etc. Working Principle
Load the medicinal materials into the extraction tank and add 5–10 times the required amount of solvent (e.g., water or ethanol) as specified by the extraction process.
Open the steam valve of the extraction tank and heat for approximately one hour. Then, activate the vacuum system to transfer the medicinal liquid into the heater. Open the steam valve of the primary heater to initiate heating and evaporation.
After heating, the extract undergoes flash distillation in the separation concentrator. The resulting tangential secondary steam enters the extraction tank, serving both as a heat carrier for the solvent and as an agitator.
Residual vapor proceeds to the condenser, where it is cooled into liquid solvent and refluxed into the extraction vessel. The condensate then passes through a heat exchanger, raising its temperature close to the boiling point of the solution in the extractor, before any remaining vapor is directed to the condenser. This high solvent reflux maintains a strong concentration gradient between the medicinal materials and the solute-rich solvent, facilitating rapid dissolution.
Characteristics
Combine extraction and evaporation, only takes 4~6 hours for the whole process.
The temperature of condensate reflux can be close to the boiling point of the solution, save 50% solvent and 50% steam consumption, increase 15% concentration efficiency.
The whole pilot controlled by Industrial Personal Computer, Operating procedures, heating temperature, evaporation temperature, reflux temperature, sacuum, pressure, liquid level, concentration and level of concentrated liquid can be set and controlled.
Especially suitable for low temperature extraction and concentration of heat-sensitive materials.
