A rotary scraper film evaporator is a highly efficient evaporation device that operates by mechanically spreading the feed liquid into a thin, turbulent film using a rotating scraper assembly. This design, which is particularly well-suited for operation under vacuum, offers significant advantages:
High Heat Transfer Efficiency: Achieves a large heat transfer coefficient and high evaporation intensity.
Short Residence Time: Minimizes the time the material is exposed to heat.
Process Versatility: Features wide operating flexibility and is exceptionally effective for handling heat-sensitive, high-viscosity materials, as well as substances prone to fouling or crystallization.

Equipment Structure

The scraper evaporator is primarily composed of two major assemblies: the heating jacket and the scraping mechanism. Key auxiliary components include the motor, gear reducer, separator, feed distributor, vapor-liquid separator, evaporator shell, rotor, scrapers (featuring sliding, fixed, or hinged types), and the bottom head.

Working Principle

The scraper evaporator employs a rotating blade assembly to spread the liquid feed evenly across the inner wall of the heating tube, forming a thin film.

Upon entering the evaporator, the material is rapidly accelerated and spread by the scrapers, generating a thin, turbulent film that flows continuously over the heated surface.

The vaporized light components flow into a separator for purification and are then directed to an external condenser or subsequent processing. Meanwhile, the concentrated residue is conveyed along the heated wall and discharged through a dedicated outlet, achieving the intended separation.
